Reno County is in the GREEN Zone for the week of 4/12/21. Recommendations from the RCHD and the Medical Collaborative regarding Covid-19 include the following mitigating measures, social distance by more than 6 ft., wash hands frequently, wear a mask, stay home when you are sick, and get vaccinated when it is made available to you. If you are sick you may get tested through your provider or the Free Community Testing site. Log on to https://www.gogettested.com/ for more information and directions as to how to sign up.
Kansas is now vaccinating individuals 16 – up, vaccines do need to be age appropriate for the individual (Pfizer 16 yrs. and up, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson 18 yrs. and up). You may go to https://vaccinefinder.org/ and find locations that have the brand you are looking for. You may also visit the Reno County web page https://www.renogov.org/741/COVID-19 to sign up for a vaccination time or go online and visit the Hutchinson Clinic, Prairie Star Health Center, Dillon’s pharmacies, Walmart or The Medicine Shoppe for availability.

The Reno County Health Dept. is hosting a Johnson and Johnson Vaccine clinic on Wednesday, April 14, at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. This is open to anyone 18 years and older, it is a one dose shot and you would be considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after receiving the vaccine. This vaccine would allow Seniors of Class of 21’ to not be excluded from end of year activities if they were exposed to Covid-19, as we would consider them to have immunity for 6 months. Please encourage parents and students to consider this option. To sign up go to https://forms.renogov.org/rchd/covid19-registration/ and get registered.
Prairie Star Health Center is also offering a clinic on Monday, April 12th from 4 – 8 p.m. at Prairie Star, it is first come first serve until gone and it will be the Moderna Vaccine.
Testing is open to everyone whether you have symptoms or no symptoms. To ensure privacy, everyone wanting to be tested MUST schedule an appointment with Reno County Health Department at 1-844-834-3657.
